AcuScan Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser Skin Tightening - Results without any surgery. This is an actual patient of Dr. Dando at Baltimore Cosmetic Laser Center who had three laser skin tightening treatments. Basically the whole breast and surrounding chest area are treated with the laser on the skin tightening setting, and we recommend using after-laser skin cream for the best results.
How It Works:
The lasers used in skin rejuvenation are basically two types. (Non-Ablative and Ablative) Non-Ablative lasers are less intense and require more treatment times, but have literally no recovery time. Ablative lasers are more intense and may require a short recovery time of several days.
At the Baltimore Cosmetic Laser Center, we use both. The laser we use depends on your skin type, the desired result and how intensive you wish to treat.
Our Gentle Yag Laser ®( Non-Ablative) uses a gentle laser beam that leaves the surface of the skin untouched and heats deeper layers. This stimulates cells beneath the surface to produce collagen and elastin. Our skin will return to a younger and more fully elastic appearance. The Yag laser light is a beneficial wavelength that does not damage the skin and produces healthy new skin components when applied. It can be used for all skin types and is the same laser that can be used for hair removal and spider vein treatment.
Our Gentle Lase Laser ®(Non-Ablative) also uses a beneficial wavelength but cannot be used for darker skin. It is very sensitive to the pigment in skin and especially useful for dark spots and freckles.
Our Acupulse Laser® (Ablative) is a more intensive treatment and brings about more dramatic results. Best for deeper wrinkles, this laser produces microscopic vaporization of the dead layers of skin and extends to the deeper layers where skin formation takes place. This stimulates the skin to rejuvenate itself from around each microscopic zone of treatment. The process of rejuvenation continues to take place underneath the skin for months afterwards. Because it is a more intense treatment, the skin may need several days to recover.
The Treatment:
Before treatment, we will review your skin type, medications you may be using and screen for any possible problems we might typically encounter. You will need to clean any oils or lotions from your skin. We will give you eye protection to wear during your procedure which takes about 10 to 15 minutes typically. The treatment will feel warm but not uncomfortable. Afterwards we recommend using a hydrating lotion with a sunscreen to protect your skin and if you are having an Non-Ablative treatmentw, you can return to normal activities the same day.
Doctor Dando personally performs all the Acupulse® (Ablative) treatments. After cleansing the skin, a numbing cream is applied. If you prefer additional oral medication to help relax during the treatment, it will be provided in the office prior to the procedure at no extra cost.
The treatment is performed while you are relaxed and sitting comfortably. A special soothing ointment is applied afterward to provide comfort. If you do not have pre- treatment medication for relaxation, you may drive home normally.
If you request medication to help you relax during your procedure you must have someone who can provide transportation home.
During the days following, you will need to keep your skin hydrated to help healing.
